Sharing Heritage Walks

The Friends of the S&DR received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Sharing Heritage Initiative in 2015-6 so that we could work with local communities and specialist interest groups to pool our knowledge about the Stockton & Darlington Railway line.

As a result of this project, we produced a series of seven self-guided walk booklets covering accessible stretches of the 1825 S&DR mainline and the Darlington branch line. These walks booklets can be downloaded for free below, or paper copies can be purchased from Locomotion – the National Railway Museum at Shildon.

If you have additional information that you think could be included in future revisions, please email Caroline Hardie
